Animated Video for Institutional Communication: 10 Years of UC Chile’s Research Office
This project celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Research Office at Universidad Católica de Chile, DINV UC. Over the past decade, the office has led more than 2,000 FONDECYT projects, advancing scientific knowledge across multiple fields. The video highlights their participation in 31 of 48 ANID-funded research centers nationwide, their extensive international collaborations, and their network of Regional Centers and Stations spanning from the Atacama Desert to Chilean Antarctica.
THE CHALLENGE
The Research Office at UC Chile decided to update the animated video for institutional communication we had created together five years earlier, to celebrate their fifth anniversary. The challenge was to present this new version during the anniversary ceremony — which also included an awards presentation.
This required modernizing the animation while maintaining visual consistency with the original version, ensuring it reflected DINV UC’s progress without losing its identity. Key milestones also needed to be updated: the number of research stations, the total value of grants received, and all data presented in both Spanish and English. By refining the design, improving animation quality, and incorporating updated information in both languages, we created a polished video that honored UC’s continued success in research and innovation.
THE RESULT
This video was designed to bemore than a celebration. It became a lasting resource for the years ahead. By transforming complex data and key milestones into an engaging and shareable format, the video continues to be used in presentations, fundraising efforts, and institutional exhibitions.
Available in Spanish and English, it extends the university’s reach to both local and international audiences. By integrating the video visuals into event materials, such as credentials, presentations, backgrounds, and promotional materials, it helped create a cohesive and professional experience that strengthened DINV UC’s message across every touchpoint.
Amidst the stress of the end of the year, and specifically planning my office’s anniversary, working with you has been an oasis. Highly recommended a thousand times over.
